EXCELLENT Based on 44 reviews Posted on Anna Parkes2025-11-04Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Sarah did an amazing job restoring our hallway tiles including some levelling and repair of the surface under the tiles. She also designed and laid a decorative section for around the doormat, as this area had been replaced by concrete by previous homeowners. Would highly recommend working with Sarah on any restoration or tiling job. Her attention to detail is great.Posted on Andy Gilman2025-09-07Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. My wife found Angel Tiling when she was searching for someone to tile our kitchen. Sarah’s reviews were fantastic, and rightly so, the quality of service is outstanding. The job was very competitively priced, but more importantly the quality of work and attention to detail, coupled with very high standards of cleanliness, has produced a result we simply can’t fault. We would not hesitate to recommend Sarah…..a first class company.Posted on Emily Beck2025-04-17Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We contacted Sarah in December when we uncovered original Milton tiles under wooden flooring, and I’m so glad we did. She responded quickly and provided some fantastic advice on how to removed the glued down panels whilst preserving as many tiles as we could. Once the boards were up and glue was off she came to replace and restore the floor back to its original glory. So happy with the results. Before and after photos to show. She extremely knowledgeable in a range of areas too. Would certainly recommend her. Thanks again Sarah!Posted on GARY SHAWCROSS2025-04-15Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Judith and I can’t compliment Sarah enough for the wonderful job she made of tiling our porch. She was professional, friendly and an excellent tiler. When she had finished the job she tidied the area so that it looked as though it nobody had been working there. A true 5* job. Thoroughly recommended.Posted on Adele Maguire2025-02-23Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Sarah restored a victorian floor for us in one of our rentals which had been neglected over the years. The floor looks absolutely gorgeous and we are so pleased with it! Wish it was in our own home! Sarah was so professional and helpful and went above and beyond restoring it and offering advice with a few other issues. Would highly recommend! 😊Posted on Ted Scaplehorn2024-11-29Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We asked Sarah to replace a single cracked tile on our Victorian(ish) hearth. This deceptively simple-sounding job involved cutting out the broken tile, sourcing a new one to match, and refitting with a high degree of precision. But apart from the excellent craftsmanship demonstrated by this piece of invisible mending, what really stands out is Sarah’s outstanding customer service for what was presumably, by her standards, a very small job. She responded promptly to our enquiry, turned up when she said she would, researched the replacement options, gave clear advice on the most cost effective way to proceed, and carried out the repair quickly and efficiently. We are delighted with the end result and have absolutely no hesitation in recommending Sarah to anyone looking for superb craftsmanship and a friendly, efficient and truly professional service.Posted on Tom Banks2024-11-02Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Sarah has just finished working on our quarry tiled hallway and slate tiled kitchen floor. She lifted and relaid individual slate tiles in the kitchen which were rocking and replaced a number of quarry tiles in the hall, then carried out a deep clean and sealed the surface. The difference is fantastic, the kitchen floor is firm and smooth and the colours in the quarry tiles are bright and vibrant. Sarah is an absolute pleasure to work with, knowledgeable and adaptable. She is rightly in high demand, but she stuck to the date we had arranged for the project, turned up punctually every morning and worked hard until the job was done. She was careful and kept the place clean and tidy throughout. I have no hesitation in recommending Angel Tiling and we’ll certainly use their services again.Posted on Petra Sohna2024-10-15Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I contacted Sarah recently as I would like to switch careers and move in to a trade like tiling. Sarah has been so helpful and generous with her time. Anything I've been unsure about she has been there to help me out. I highly recommend chatting to Sarah if you are a woman and thinking of going in to tiling. Thanks Sarah 😊
At Angel Historic Tile Restoration, we are driven by a singular dedication to preserving the artistry beneath your feet. Since our founding, we have specialized exclusively in the sensitive repair, cleaning, and replication of historic tiled installations, primarily focusing on the exquisite geometric, tessellated, and encaustic floors of the Victorian and Edwardian eras. Our name is synonymous with quality restoration that honors the past; we see ourselves not just as tilers, but as guardians of architectural history. Every project, from a small porch repair to the complete resurrection of a grand hotel lobby, is approached with the deep historical knowledge and meticulous craftsmanship that defines the Angel standard.
True restoration demands more than simply patching a floor; it requires a deep, almost forensic understanding of 19th and early 20th-century tiling methods. At Angel Historic Tile Restoration, our methodology is built on authenticity. We begin with a careful, non-destructive assessment to determine the original clay composition, firing technique, and pigment source. When replacements are necessary, we utilize custom-made tiles from specialist foundries that precisely match the historical colours and durability of the originals. Our craftsmen use traditional cutting and setting techniques, ensuring the grout lines, sub-floor preparation, and final finish are chemically and historically appropriate, guaranteeing a seamless, durable, and genuine result that will stand the test of time.
There is a unique emotional resonance to uncovering an historic floor that has been concealed for decades. For many homeowners, the restored tiles become the very soul of the property, offering a tangible connection to its past. When Angel Historic Tile Restoration undertakes a project, we are dedicated to revealing that narrative. We meticulously remove the layers of history—the old carpets, the modern adhesives, the grime—to let the original colours and intricate patterns speak again. The transformation is often breathtaking, turning a simple thoroughfare into a gallery-worthy feature that adds immeasurable character and financial value to your cherished property.
Angel Historic Tile Restoration is a trusted partner for commercial clients, conservation architects, and heritage bodies responsible for listed buildings and public spaces. We understand the specific demands of high-traffic commercial environments, where durability must meet historical accuracy. Our portfolio includes successful restorations in institutional hallways, museum lobbies, and period properties converted for modern retail or hospitality use. We are experts in undertaking large-scale, complex projects under strict deadlines, always ensuring minimal disruption while delivering a final product that is compliant with conservation standards and robust enough for contemporary public use.
Historical mosaics that were at risk of being lost after being discovered on a building site have been saved by a team of conservators with an hour to spare.
The coloured tiles depicting religious icons, which date back to 1905, were found during the demolition of a former Catholic school in Chorlton, Manchester.
